Student Environment Club
Caulfield Primary School has installed what may be a world first – a bi-lingual compost bin system in Japanese and English. The student Environment Club designed the new signage so students can understand what goes in the compost bins, and importantly what doesn’t, in both languages.
The new bin system and bi-lingual signage was installed with funding from a Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant for our project, “Project Mottainai”.'Mottainai' is an important aspect of Japanese culture that relates to the use of all resources with respect. Please watch our video about our compost bins.
